New Food Card for Families with School Aged Children
A new kind of food card called a P-EBT is automatically being sent to all children who either get SNAP benefits or are eligible for free or reduced lunch.
The card is in addition to school food distribution already available. This includes all students at Title 1 schools in Waltham: Kennedy, McDevitt, Northeast, Plympton, Stanley, Whittemore, Waltham Dual Language. Children under age five are not included. If you already receive SNAP, you will receive extra funds on your card. If you do not receive SNAP, you will get this special card just for use during the pandemic when kids are not going to school. You can use this card to buy food at the grocery store.
